We were back on the beat today, this time running an all-day public consultation on the plans for a Premier Inn proposed for Baker Street, Uxbridge by LaSalle Investment Management.
Our location was right in the heart of the town on a sunny market day, so we found ourselves chatting at length to hundreds of residents, students and business people including representatives from the London Borough of Hillingdon Council, the Uxbridge BID manager and nearby Residents’ Association. We were delighted to hear everyone’s views, and even more so to discover that, of the 200 who officially provided their feedback, 93% were supportive.
Despite having to stand and talk for more than 10 hours, under an increasingly intense sun and next to a nest of angry flying ants, the team was buoyed by the level of encouragement we received for the proposals.
But, boy, the cool beer that evening was welcome!
