Consultation has opened for the Cullompton Town Centre Relief Road. Comments are invited from all interested parties until 25 October. Three optional routes have been proposed. These will be displayed, with the expert opinion on the pros and cons for each, at a series of exhibitions:

Why is this happening?
Anyone who lives, studies or works in Cullompton will know what an issue congestion is for the town – from the access point of Junction 28 of the M5, right through Fore Street. This has resulted in poor air quality, uncomfortable noise levels, economic degeneration and the stalling of much-needed residential developments.
A Cullompton Town Centre Relief Road is viewed by Cullompton Town Council and the town’s Neighbourhood Plan working committee – as well as by Mid Devon District Council – as critical for unlocking the town’s potential for growth and improvement. They’ve done a lot of work with Highways and Devon County Council to establish three credible and practical optional routes for the road. This consultation aims to seek feedback on those options.
