County’s Best Celebrated at Devon Tourism Awards

With our Visit Devon hat on, Seaxburh joined the best of Devon’s visitor destination and hospitality operators last night for the prestigious and glamourous 2018 Devon Tourism Awards, held over a sumptuous banquet at the wonderful Highbullen Hotel, Golf and Country Club.

Now in its ninth year, the Awards comprised 26 categories, and some 80 happy recipients went home with very beautiful – and very weighty – gold, silver and bronze trophies designed specifically for the occasion by Dartington Crystal.

Amongst the happiest of all must have been Michael Caines’ Lympstone Manor, which took the Winner of Winners trophy, as well as the Small Hotel Award.  In addition, there was the Visit Devon ‘Outstanding Contribution to Tourism’ Award, presented to Trevor Stanbury MBE in recognition of more than two decades of dedication in promoting North Devon.  A further special award for Customer Service went to Helen Follett of The Folletts at Beer, who was found to have gone the extra mile for her customers (and their doggy friends).

The full list of Winners and Highly Commended is here   and you can see all the photos by talented photographer Nick Williams, here.
