Mid Devon District Council is one of 17 councils nationwide to have been awarded £20,000 as part of the Local Government Association’s Housing Advisers Programme (HAP) for FY21.
The grant is for the provision of independent experts to support councils undertaking specific projects to tackle the effects of the housing crisis in their local communities, while employing best practice. Projects this year range from delivering affordable housing using the Modern Methods of Construction system, to developing zero-carbon homes.
Stephen Walford, Chief Executive of MDDC, tweeted the news, adding: ‘I look forward to it helping us advance efforts to secure high quality, well-designed, low carbon housing.’
