Within months of achieving outline planning for the Firepool mixed use scheme in Taunton, the promoter St. Modwen and the Council have parted ways.
The decision has been attributed to a new commercial focus by St. Modwen on commercial/industrial and residential developments, rather than on mixed use, town centre regeneration schemes like Firepool.
Meanwhile, the Council is forging ahead with business consultation on a new hotel proposed for Firepool. This runs until Wednesday 31 October 2018. Details and a link to the consultation can be found on the Consultations page of Council’s website.
